England

Coronavirus update – obviously all my travels are on hold but I am still planning to cycle travel as soon as restrictions are lifted and it is safe to do so. I am still going for walks everyday, keeping fit, chasing rabbits and having fun.

Planning my next travel blog and cycle tours

I have been at home in England for the winter, planning my adventure bicycle tours and travel blogging for 2020. In April, I will travel to London, cycling around all the iconic sites. I will be taking loads of cool photos for my new children’s book, Sprout visits London, the first in the series ‘Round the world with Travelling Sprout’

Cycle tour in search of Santa; June 2020

In June I will cycle tour from England to Lapland in the Arctic Circle of Norway, searching for Santa Claus, sending postcards to my followers, and travel blogging all the way. I will be stopping for a few days in Amsterdam, exploring the city by bicycle again, then I will cycle tour on through Germany and Denmark. I am looking forward to visiting Legoland and some Danish royal palaces before taking the ferry to Norway. There will be some absolutely amazing scenery to blog about, as I travel up the west coast to Bergen, Allesund, Tromso, and North Cape, stopping to take some great photos at Trolletunga and Pulpit Rock. My Norway page is going to have some epic photos on it.

I hope to see reindeer, dog sleds, and Father Christmas and his elves in Lapland. I will continue to travel blog, send photo postcards to my loyal followers(Join up here), post photos on my Instagram and Facebook pages, and videos on my You Tube channel, on my cycle tour around the world. Please follow and share to keep me on the road.

Sprout cycle tours the KKH in Pakistan

In September, I will fly to Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistan, explore the city by bicycle, then cycle tour up the Karakorum Highway(KKH) to the Chinese border and then downhill back to Lahore to watch the famous border closing ceremony at the Wagah border crossing.

On the way home to England I will stop at Istanbul to explore that beautiful city by bicycle, cycling to the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, and take a ferry across the Bosphorous to Asian side of Istanbul. As usual, during the cycle tour I will be blogging about my travels, posting photos on Instagram and Facebook, sending unique postcards to my followers and also posting photos to this travel blog website.

If you see me cycling along the road please stop to say hello, take a selfie and teach me about the local culture.

Hi Travelling Sprout, Just got to know about your blog from a facebook page. I cycled with my dog from the East to the West. Unfortunately she passed away when we were in Montenegro. Now I am also in England as I finished the trip here. I hope to meet with you however with this pandemic I am afraid it's not possible. I wonder if you have searched about bringing your dog into China? It's very strict and usually the dog has to be sent to quarantine for weeks. Hope you have already a solution as I have met some cyclists who went until the border with their dog but then returned. If you have other problems, feel free to ask as well. I am sure that you have done a lot of research already. Good luck with your journey! :)

Hi Alice, Yes, I am stuck at home as well, I would have loved to meet you too, maybe when the pandemic is over. I am sorry that you lost your dog, it must have been heart breaking. When I go to Pakistan, I will cycle to the china border at the Khunjereeb Pass, the turn around and cycle back to Gilgit. That cycle tour maybe next spring now depending how the health and travel situation is. Take care, keep in touch, Sprout. X

I live in Copenhagen. Will you be cycling to Copenhagen on your way to travel Norway as I really want to meet you. My school wants you to come too as they all like dogs.

When I am not travelling the world, I live in the Yorkshire Dales. I cycle around the Dales most days.

Hi Mollie, in March sometime, I will post the date here as soon as I know.

I have made a ‘Promise on Sustainability’ so I am very conscious of the environment. I mainly travel by bicycle and I try not to buy single use plastics. Unfortunately I sometimes have to travel on a ferry or airline to cross a sea, ocean, or a country where I cannot get a visa or dogs aren’t allowed.

If you see me on the road or in a city I am usually pleased to have a selfie with you. I love cuddles and gentle petting. Just shout, “Sprout, Sprout, Travelling Sprout”.

In 2020, I am cycling from Amsterdam to Lapland travelling through Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, and Norway. I will be looking for Santa so if you see him, please tell me where you saw him!

In September I am going to cycle tour the Karakorum Highway from Islamabad to the Chinese border and then back to Lahore. I will be flying from Amsterdam to Islamabad with Turkish Air as the flight has a short stop over in Istanbul. This will give me chance to stretch my legs before the 5 hour flight onwards to the Pakistan capital.

Keep a look out for me.
